Ines Schwerd
"The seeker of happiness encounters darkness and light, good and evil on her path, constantly struggling with her feelings, which move between dream and reality."
From the exhibition text "Vom Lebensgefühl eines Glückssuchers", 2021
Ines Schwerd's works are metaphors for the lightness of being as well as for the heaviness of the mind. Through colour and line, she explores mental states, investigates longings and realities of interpersonal encounters and dreams herself into fictitious landscape spaces. Wether it be painting, drawing, printmaking or small Scale Sculpting, the media vary and intermingle. Through her figurative works, Ines Schwerd humorously captures observations and thus often holds a mirror up to the viewer.
